Senior AI & Full-Stack Engineer - DevOps & Technical Leadership

Operating with a hybrid delivery model that combines internal ownership and outsourced development, we seek a Senior AI & Full-Stack Engineer to join our team remotely on a full-time, long-term basis. This role offers the chance to take ownership of technical leadership, guiding external contributors and shaping reliable, maintainable software solutions. You will be involved in all stages of development—from business requirements through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing operation—across various products and initiatives. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer eager to grow with the company and assume increasing responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain frontend and backend web applications.
- Build AI-powered features, integrations, internal tools, and business automations.
- Utilize AI coding assistants and agentic workflows effectively, ensuring thorough testing and human oversight.
- Translate business requirements into clear implementation tasks with verifiable acceptance criteria.
- Design APIs, business logic, authentication, authorization, and third-party integrations.
- Manage database schemas, migrations, query optimization, backups, and recovery processes.
- Administer Linux servers, including application services, permissions, updates, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Build and maintain Docker environments, handling container networking, storage, configuration, and health monitoring.
- Manage DNS records, domain routing, TLS certificates, and reverse proxies.
- Maintain CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, and related build agents.
- Execute deployments with migration checks, rollback plans, and post-deployment verification.
- Investigate and resolve production incidents, addressing root causes.
- Coordinate outsourced developers and specialists, clarifying requirements, reviewing deliverables, and managing dependencies.
- Mentor developers through code reviews, demonstrations, and constructive feedback.
- Ensure solutions are proportionate to problems, controlling complexity, infrastructure costs, and maintenance overhead.

Required Qualifications
- Proven senior-level experience delivering and maintaining production web applications.
- Strong frontend skills with modern frameworks, JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Solid backend development expertise, including secure APIs, integrations, validation, and error handling.
- Practical experience integrating AI or large language model capabilities, managing output quality, failure handling, latency, and cost.
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants or agentic development workflows, with independently verified results.
- Strong SQL and relational database skills, including migrations, indexing, performance tuning, and backup/recovery.
- Proficient Linux administration and Docker deployment experience.
- Working knowledge of DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, firewalls, ports, and reverse proxies.
- Practical CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions and familiarity with Azure DevOps repositories and pipelines.
- Strong Git skills, including pull requests, code reviews, and release management.
- Previous experience leading development teams or coordinating technical delivery.
- Demonstrated mentoring ability and clear communication of technical decisions.
- Experience working with outsourced developers, contractors, or distributed teams.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and make sound decisions within a startup budget.
- Commitment to a long-term, full-time role with growing responsibility.
