Senior Android Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Android mobile developer to elevate our projects and teams to new heights within a dynamic and continuously evolving environment. You will play a crucial role in shaping the banking experience for millions of users worldwide. As part of our expansion, you will help establish and scale our new hub in Ho Chi Minh City, becoming a key contributor to the growth and direction of the Android team.

Key Responsibilities
You will serve as the technical lead for Android development, leveraging your deep understanding of Backbase projects and Android capabilities to guide and prepare other developers. Your primary objective will be to seamlessly integrate the Backbase platform into customer systems and build tailored solutions on top of it. Each implementation will be unique, requiring you to develop apps primarily using native technologies.

Your role encompasses a broad range of duties including feature development, innovation, maintenance, upgrades, and on-call support. You will write clean, efficient code, conduct testing, and provide mentorship to client-side developers. Additionally, you will offer both solicited and unsolicited advice, perform audits, and deliver on-the-job training. Your expertise will ensure that customer expectations are not only met but exceeded, leaving behind reusable components and high-quality deliverables.

Required Qualifications
- Proven experience developing at least three Android applications, with at least one published on Google Play.
- Strong ability to read and analyze code quickly and effectively.
- A passion for mentoring and helping other developers grow professionally.
- Extensive knowledge of Android mobile development best practices, with the ability to teach and share these practices confidently.
- Proficiency in Kotlin, with solid experience in Java.
- A proactive, “getting things done” mindset that drives speedy and cost-efficient delivery of solutions.
- Effective communication skills, with a willingness to develop presentation abilities if not already a natural presenter.
- Ability to clearly share knowledge through training sessions and workshops.
