Senior AR Specialist - Medical Billing

Meds Nexus is seeking an experienced Senior A/R Specialist to join their team on a full-time, on-site basis at their Rawalpindi office. This role operates during the evening/night shift from 5:30 PM to 2:30 AM, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in U.S. medical billing and revenue cycle management, with a focus on complex account recovery and appeals. This position offers an opportunity to lead critical A/R processes, improve revenue performance, and work closely with healthcare portfolios in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex accounts receivable resolution pipelines, conducting thorough investigations into high-balance and long-overdue insurance claims.
- Audit claim files before transmission to ensure medical necessity, correct modifier application, and compliance with coding standards.
- Identify recurring denial trends, develop root-cause strategies, and resolve challenging claim rejections effectively.
- Prepare detailed, multi-level appeal packages supported by clinical documentation, fee schedules, and payer policies.
- Reconcile insurance remittances against contractual agreements to identify and recover underpaid amounts.
- Supervise secondary and tertiary billing workflows, handling high-priority escalations from payers via phone or electronic communication.
- Create executive-level A/R performance reports, aging summaries, and collection forecasts using advanced Microsoft Excel tools.
- Mentor junior team members, troubleshoot daily operational issues, and maintain clear reporting with department leadership.

Required Qualifications
- 3 to 4+ years of hands-on experience in U.S. medical billing, senior-level accounts receivable recovery, denial management, and formal appeals.
- Proficiency with major EHR systems and clearinghouses such as eClinicalWorks, AdvancedMD, Kareo/Tebra, Practice Fusion, OfficeAlly, EncoderPro, and payer web portals.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, formulas, and pivot tables, along with familiarity with digital fax utilities and strong typing speed.
- In-depth knowledge of medical coding systems (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS), Medicare/Medicaid policies, commercial payer guidelines, and prior authorization processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, combined with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
