Key Responsibilities
Design and develop backend features that align with business goals and customer requirements. Maintain and improve test coverage using PHPUnit to ensure high-quality code. Build scalable, testable APIs and backend systems with clean, maintainable code. Review project requirements and offer technical insights to guide development efforts. Work closely with product managers, designers, QA teams, and fellow engineers within an Agile framework. Monitor system performance and respond promptly to incidents as part of a rotating on-call schedule. Break down complex projects into manageable tasks and mentor team members throughout implementation. Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to uphold coding standards. Continuously refine development processes and propose technical improvements. Advocate for secure coding practices and ensure code is free from known vulnerabilities. Document features, workflows, and system architecture to promote knowledge sharing across the team.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years’ experience working with PHP is essential. At least 3 years of hands-on experience with the Symfony framework is required (Laravel-only experience will not be considered). Candidates must have 2 or more years of experience writing unit tests using PHPUnit. Strong communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration across cross-functional teams. Proficiency in managing MongoDB databases is expected. A solid understanding and practical application of Object-Oriented Design Patterns is required.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks and libraries such as React, Node.js, and/or TypeScript is advantageous. Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes is preferred. Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline workflows is a plus.
