Senior Blockchain-DAML Developer / Manager

As a Senior Blockchain-DAML Developer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing software applications within a full-stack environment. Your expertise will support client projects worldwide, ensuring that solutions adhere to established architectural standards and project methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, implement, and maintain Canton-based applications using DAML. Create DAML models and workflows customized to meet specific business requirements. Perform software analysis, testing, and debugging on DAML platforms to ensure high-quality deliverables. Deploy and manage Canton networks, including daily configuration and troubleshooting activities. Develop scalable and robust web-based solutions that address complex business challenges effectively. Provide technical leadership across multiple client engagements from project inception through to implementation. Offer architectural guidance to ensure alignment with technical strategies and target architectures. Act as a subject matter expert in designing and implementing complex architecture solutions that integrate processes, applications, data, and technology. Stay current with emerging open-source technologies and assess their relevance to ongoing projects. Collaborate closely with Product Management to plan and negotiate iterative development cycles within an Agile framework. Propose alternative technical solutions to improve efficiency and promote reusability. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines. Contribute to EY’s internal knowledge base by sharing best practices and lessons learned. Lead and mentor team members to ensure timely and quality completion of deliverables. Maintain a strong sense of urgency and a problem-solving mindset throughout all tasks.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 10 to 13 years of experience in web application development, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in Blockchain/DLT technologies, preferably Ethereum or Canton. Strong foundational knowledge of Blockchain concepts including smart contracts and consensus algorithms. Proficiency in writing smart contracts using Solidity or DAML, with a preference for DAML expertise. Deep understanding of Canton network components such as participants, domains, and onboarding/party setup. Experience working with DAML features including parties/roles, authorization, and privacy in multi-party workflows. Proven track record in deploying and managing Canton networks. Skilled in object-oriented and declarative programming languages. Experience developing RESTful services and back-end programming, particularly with Node.js. Familiarity with Docker, JavaScript, GoLang, AngularJS, and cloud platforms like AWS. Competence in front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS or React. Knowledge of database technologies including MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB. Experience with modern software configuration management tools like Git and Azure DevOps. Strong technical understanding of Azure/AWS PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, containerization, Docker, and Kubernetes. Hands-on experience with development, implementation, and deployment of multiple web/cloud applications and distributed systems. Practical knowledge of DevOps methodologies and Agile development practices including XP and Scrum. Experience architecting cloud-based applications. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Familiarity with professional software engineering practices such as coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations. Ability to incorporate non-functional requirements such as high availability, scalability, security, performance, resiliency, cloud readiness, and monitoring into architecture and design.
