Located on Pine Avenue in Lake City, Lahore, this full-time Data Engineer role offers an on-site position with working hours from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data engineering, combining strong technical skills with effective communication and client-facing abilities. This role requires someone who can confidently manage projects end-to-end, from gathering requirements to delivering production-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data platforms to support various business needs. Build both batch and real-time data pipelines using technologies such as Python, SQL, Spark/PySpark, and Airflow. Architect and optimize data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse environments to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval. Integrate data from diverse sources including APIs, databases, event streams, and other external systems. Implement robust data quality checks, validation processes, monitoring, and governance frameworks to maintain data integrity. Continuously optimize SQL queries and data processing workflows to enhance performance, reliability, and reduce cloud infrastructure costs. Collaborate closely with clients, as well as Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams, to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions. Take full ownership of data engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery and production stability. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues that arise in production environments to maintain seamless data operations.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in data engineering is essential. Proficiency in Python and SQL is required to develop and optimize data workflows. Hands-on experience with Spark or PySpark and Airflow for building scalable data pipelines is necessary. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure is expected. Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data modeling techniques, data warehousing concepts, and distributed systems is critical. Experience working with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL, as well as NoSQL databases, is important. Knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker, version control with Git, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines is required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders effectively are key to success in this role. Candidates must demonstrate strong ownership, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to close projects independently.
