Senior DevOps Developer

Mavericks United is seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Developer to join our team. This role involves building, maintaining, and enhancing robust development and deployment environments. The position requires hands-on experience with automation, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and ensuring system reliability. The successful candidate will work closely with developers, technical teams, and clients, providing technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, automating build, testing, deployment, and infrastructure workflows.
- Manage cloud infrastructure and containerized applications across development, staging, and production environments.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to provision and maintain infrastructure reliably and consistently.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability by implementing logging, alerting, and health checks.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and production issues; support release management and provide production support as needed.
- Securely manage configuration, secrets, and environment variables while enhancing scalability, security, and system performance.
- Automate repetitive operational tasks and maintain comprehensive technical and operational documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with developers, QA teams, and project managers; mentor junior DevOps engineers to foster skill development.

Client Communication

- Serve as the primary technical liaison for clients regarding infrastructure, deployment, and DevOps-related matters.
- Participate in client meetings and calls to gather requirements, present solutions, and explain technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide timely updates on deployments, incidents, resolution timelines, root cause analyses, and preventive measures.
- Align client infrastructure, security, and compliance requirements with project management and delivery schedules.
- Deliver clear documentation and reports, building trusted relationships with clients, including those in international teams.

Required Qualifications

- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering roles.
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix server administration and hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (covering compute, storage, networking, and security).
- Expertise in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
- Solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes, along with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Proficient in Git version control workflows and scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Good understanding of networking concepts including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, load balancing, and firewalls.
- Experience working with monitoring and logging solutions, applying security best practices, and managing production environments.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with proven client-facing experience including meetings, status updates, and issue escalation. Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

- Hands-on production experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and Kubernetes, including Helm and Terraform automation.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stacks, or Datadog, as well as cloud security and Identity and Access Management (IAM).
- Knowledge of serverless or cloud-native architectures, enterprise or client-facing applications, and working with international teams.
- Experience mentoring junior DevOps engineers and leading client calls or technical walkthroughs.
