The Education Counsellor plays a vital role in guiding international students to select institutions that align with their academic and career goals. This position involves providing accurate information about study options, local education systems, cultural and geographic considerations, assisting with application documentation, facilitating enrolments, and promoting IDP’s products and services. The counsellor ensures students receive personalized support throughout their journey, helping them make informed decisions and successfully navigate the admissions process.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve pipeline goals, customer satisfaction, and advocacy targets by managing each stage of the student journey. This includes promoting essential student products and services, maintaining leads and successful applications, seeking referral opportunities, and actively participating in events and lead generation activities. Regular database maintenance is also required to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to students, their families, and education providers. This involves engaging in planning activities to boost student involvement, providing clear and accessible information about admissions, processes, and qualification options, and maintaining proactive communication with students and education providers throughout the process.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in sales or customer service environments, with a track record of meeting individual and team targets.
- Solid understanding of the education sector, particularly in placing students into Vocational Education and Training (VET) institutions and universities, including knowledge of immigration requirements and processes.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or prior experience working as an Education Counsellor or in a similar role.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with fluency in English, both verbal and written.
