The Senior Financial Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Islamabad. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with both local regulations and international accounting standards. This role requires daily monitoring of general ledger entries, account reconciliations, financial data analysis, and support for audits and tax filings. Additionally, the Senior Financial Accountant will focus on optimizing accounting processes, mentoring junior team members, collaborating with cross-functional departments, and providing valuable financial insights to management for budgeting and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts on a daily basis to maintain precise financial records.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support internal and external audits, as well as tax filing processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Optimize accounting workflows and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff to enhance team performance and professional growth.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support budgeting and strategic decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Strong expertise in financial statements preparation and financial reporting, with experience handling complex reports.
- Proficient finance and analytical skills to interpret data and support strategic business decisions.
- Hands-on experience with modern accounting software and tools to manage and automate accounting functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA with completed article-ship are highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of UAE accounting standards, taxation laws, and AML regulations.
- Proven track record in a senior accounting role, preferably within professional services or corporate environments.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within an on-site team environment.
