Senior Financial Accountant

The Perseus Operating Group is currently looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join its finance team in Karachi. This role requires a detail-oriented and independent professional who can maintain the general ledger, understand financial transactions thoroughly, and provide strong communication and analytical skills. The position supports business operations, accounting policies, financial processes, and systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly close procedures, including preparing and posting adjusting journal entries.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations and research discrepancies promptly.
- Manage accounts payable inquiries from internal stakeholders and vendors.
- Support monthly financial statement analysis and reporting on key variances.
- Consolidate balance sheet overviews and monthly reporting packages, providing trend analysis.
- Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts while meeting deadlines.
- Lead daily accounting activities of accountants and assistants to ensure efficient workflow.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members by sharing knowledge and resolving accounting issues.
- Align team activities with monthly reporting deadlines and company financial priorities.
- Assist the Senior Finance Manager as required.
- Respond to accounting and financial queries by researching and interpreting data.
- Collaborate closely with offshore teams across multiple time zones to coordinate financial tasks smoothly.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ACCA, CMA, CPA designation, or active progress toward completion is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in finance or accounting functions.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS, including IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with accounting technology, automated solutions, and ERP general ledger systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional interpersonal skills to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Experience working in an international, multi-location environment is an advantage.
- Prior exposure to team coordination or mentoring is considered a plus.
- Familiarity with Great Plains, Jedox, Concur, banking applications, or similar software is beneficial.
- Understanding of revenue recognition and acquisition accounting is a plus.
- Ability to develop and implement process improvements aligned with best practices.
- Effective oral, written, and business communication skills.
- Proactive mindset with eagerness to contribute, learn, and provide practical solutions.
