Senior Full-Stack Developer

We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Application Developer with over five years of experience to join our team in Karachi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering production-grade web applications from start to finish while leveraging modern AI and agentic workflows in a responsible manner. This role requires a strong understanding of how to effectively use AI tools to enhance development without compromising code quality. The position is full-time, on-site, with office hours from 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM, and offers a competitive salary pegged to the US dollar.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and ship high-quality web applications using agentic spec-driven development, transforming ambiguous requirements into clear specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Utilize AI coding assistants such as Claude or Codex effectively, ensuring outputs are high-signal and avoid common pitfalls like hallucinations, over-abstraction, and unreviewable code changes.
- Apply context engineering principles and manage complexity by recognizing “context dumb zones” and implementing back pressure to maintain codebase integrity.
- Decompose complex problems into manageable tasks with verifiable outputs, maintaining a clear ownership mindset where human decisions guide development and AI accelerates execution.
- Design and implement front-end solutions using expert-level React and Next.js skills, focusing on UI architecture, component design, state management, performance optimization, and responsive design with CSS frameworks like Tailwind.
- Build robust back-end services with NestJS, emphasizing clean architecture, modular service design, authentication patterns, and API development.
- Manage PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, indexing, migrations, and query optimization.
- Deploy and maintain applications on AWS, handling production environments, security fundamentals such as IAM and secrets management, and utilizing services like S3, SNS/SQS, ECS/Fargate/Lambda, RDS, and CloudWatch.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions or GitLab.
- Develop and manage Docker workflows for both local development and production-ready images.
- Use Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK to provision and manage cloud resources.
- Ensure strong observability and debugging capabilities through logging, monitoring, and tracing tools like CloudWatch, Sentry, and OpenTelemetry.
- Build and maintain multi-tenant SaaS systems with robust role-based access control (RBAC) and permissions.
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code with clear pull requests and reliable deployment practices.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in full-stack web application development.
- Expert proficiency in React and Next.js for front-end development.
- Strong experience with NestJS for back-end development.
- Proficient in PostgreSQL database design and optimization.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and production deployments.
- Skilled in CI/CD pipeline creation and management.
- Experience with Docker containerization and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CDK).
- Familiarity with observability tools and debugging practices.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tools responsibly in software development.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to decompose complex tasks.
- Clear ownership mindset and excellent communication skills.
