Senior Full Stack Developer (Remote, Contractual) [HR214] PK

Smart Working is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer with over 8 years of experience in software development, specializing in scalable web applications and cloud-native solutions. This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing a live, feature-complete Studio product, with approximately 70% backend and 30% frontend responsibilities. The ideal candidate will work primarily with Node.js, NestJS, Angular, Docker, and Google Cloud Platform services. You will join an established team, contributing to both backend API improvements and frontend features while following proven engineering and deployment practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve a live, customer-facing production platform.
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js and NestJS.
- Contribute to Angular-based frontend development as needed.
- Build and enhance REST APIs, maintaining documentation with Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Support production systems on Google Cloud Platform, ensuring reliability and availability.
- Manage production deployments through CI/CD pipelines and established processes.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, identify root causes, and implement fixes.
- Work with Docker containerized applications and cloud-hosted services.
- Follow development, staging, and production release workflows.
- Participate in code reviews and adhere to engineering standards and deployment patterns.
- Independently design, document, and deliver technical solutions.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools as part of the engineering workflow.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience with Node.js and/or NestJS.
- At least 3 years of experience with Angular.
- Over 1.5 years of experience with React.
- 4+ years designing and developing REST APIs.
- 3+ years working with Docker and containerized applications.
- 2+ years of hands-on DevOps experience supporting live production environments, including CI/CD, deployments, monitoring, and incident resolution.
- 2+ years managing customer-facing production workloads on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with GCP services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and Cloud SQL.
- Proficiency with automated CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Experience producing and maintaining Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.
- Familiarity with microservices-based architectures.
- Ability to independently design technical solutions and APIs.
- Strong collaboration skills within an established engineering team.
- At least 1 year of experience using AI-assisted development tools like Claude, MCP, or LLM APIs.
