Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Based in Islamabad, this full-time, on-site role offers a flexible shift schedule coordinated to ensure daily overlap with the client team. The position is expected to start around mid-November 2026, with compensation details discussed during the screening process. You will join First Epic, a global AI-first studio that embeds skilled professionals directly into the teams of ambitious overseas companies. At First Epic, you will work closely with decision-makers and leverage cutting-edge AI tools to accelerate your work and grow your expertise on impactful projects.

You will be responsible for leading the development of a unique map-centered mobile and web community app designed for dog owners to transform everyday walks into real-world social meetups. The app uses a single React Native codebase for both iOS and Android platforms, alongside a TypeScript web application, all supported by a shared Postgres backend. As the senior technical authority on this project, you will make key architectural decisions, design data models with privacy in mind, and manage core location and map features that are central to user trust and product success. While no formal CTO title is required, you will have the opportunity to grow into a leadership role as the engineering team expands.

Key Responsibilities
- Own the foundation by independently reviewing existing code, database, and product plans, identifying strengths, gaps, and priorities for improvement.
- Build once, ship twice by designing features that work seamlessly across web and mobile platforms through shared types and backend services.
- Manage data architecture by consolidating the shared data model on a single backend, enforcing access controls at the database level, and validating security with tests.
- Protect user location privacy rigorously, ensuring no exact location data is exposed to non-friends via server-side controls.
- Develop and maintain the app’s location and map functionalities until a dedicated specialist joins the team.
- Establish build standards by setting up mobile baselines, maintaining AI-assisted build instructions, and fostering code review practices to ensure quality as the team grows.
- Lead the app launch process, managing submissions and reviews for iOS and Android stores to allow founders to focus on product development.

Required Qualifications
- Proven experience shipping consumer products with a unified codebase for web and mobile, specifically using React Native and TypeScript.
- Strong ownership of Postgres database architecture, including schema design, migrations, and backend hosting.
- Expertise in enforcing security and privacy at the data and server layers, beyond client-side controls.
- Ability to provide technical leadership independently, making architecture decisions without a CTO.
- Demonstrated experience living with the outcomes of shipped consumer products and iterating accordingly.
- Proficiency in AI-native development workflows, using AI tools to enhance productivity while maintaining secure, reviewed code.
- Excellent communication skills in English and dependable availability for daily team interactions.
