Senior Full-Stack Web Developer

ENGAGE MENA is seeking an experienced, hands-on Full-Stack Developer to join the team. In this role, you will work closely with the Project Manager to translate project requirements into a secure, reliable, and user-friendly application. This position is ideal for a proactive individual contributor who is comfortable managing the entire development process—from technical planning and implementation to launch and ongoing enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop responsive web interfaces, backend services, databases, and APIs that meet project requirements.
- Translate product designs and specifications into functional features.
- Recommend appropriate technologies and maintain clean, reusable codebases.
- Integrate third-party services, including AI APIs, as needed.
- Implement authentication, role-based permissions, and ensure secure data handling throughout the application.
- Configure cloud hosting environments, deployment pipelines, monitoring tools, and backup solutions.
- Conduct thorough testing of critical features, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance.
- Document development processes and communicate progress, timelines, and technical challenges clearly to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 4 years of experience in full-stack development with a proven track record of independently building and launching production-ready applications.
- Proficiency in frontend technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, HTML5, CSS3, and Tailwind CSS or similar styling frameworks.
- Strong skills in responsive, mobile-first UI development, accessibility best practices, reusable component design, and converting Figma designs into functional interfaces.
- Backend expertise with Node.js (Express or NestJS) or Python (FastAPI or Django), including API design and server-side development.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design, migrations, indexing, query optimization, and ORM tools like Prisma or equivalents.
- Familiarity with integrating REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, messaging, and notification services, with robust handling of external API failures.
- Solid understanding of authentication and security practices, including session management, secure file uploads, input validation, rate limiting, encryption, and safe handling of credentials and personal data.
- Experience with background processing techniques such as job queues, scheduled tasks, caching, retries, and asynchronous workflows; knowledge of Redis is a plus.
- Cloud platform experience (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or similar) covering application hosting, object storage, CDN, DNS, and SSL management.
- Proficient with development workflows involving Git, GitHub or GitLab, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration, and database backup and recovery.
- Competence in testing methodologies including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using tools like Jest, Vitest, Pytest, or Playwright; experience with logging, error tracking, and performance monitoring.
- Practical experience integrating AI services such as OpenAI or Anthropic, including managing structured outputs, cost control, and responsible user data handling.
- Strong communication skills, technical judgment, and the ability to document and deliver features from concept through deployment.
