Senior Functional Consultant D365

We are seeking a Senior Finance Functional Consultant with expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving successful ERP implementations by leading business process discovery, gathering detailed requirements, and ensuring alignment with best practices. This role requires a strong functional understanding of finance modules within D365 F&O and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams to deliver comprehensive solutions. The consultant will support the full project lifecycle, from design and configuration to testing, training, and post-go-live support.

Key Responsibilities

Lead business process discovery workshops to capture detailed business requirements and identify opportunities for improvement. Conduct Fit/Gap analysis to evaluate standard D365 Finance & Operations capabilities and recommend best practices tailored to client needs. Prepare comprehensive Functional Design Documents (FDDs), process flows, user stories, and other solution documentation to guide development and implementation efforts.

Configure D365 F&O modules according to business requirements and support end-to-end testing of business processes. Work closely with technical consultants to address customizations, integrations, reporting, and data migration needs. Develop test scripts, coordinate System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), manage defect resolution, and facilitate business sign-off to ensure quality deliverables.

Support data migration activities by performing data mapping, validation, and reconciliation to guarantee accurate and seamless data transfer. Deliver user training sessions, create training materials, and conduct knowledge transfer to empower business users. Provide go-live support, hypercare, and ongoing post-implementation assistance to ensure smooth adoption and issue resolution.

Participate actively in project planning, status reporting, risk identification, and stakeholder communications to maintain transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 7 years of experience in ERP implementations, including at least 3 full end-to-end implementations of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance. Strong functional expertise in Finance modules within D365 F&O is essential. Experience with Project Management & Accounting (PMA) modules is considered an advantage.

Proven hands-on experience managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect tracking, and applying testing methodologies effectively. Solid understanding of data migration processes, system integrations, reporting, and security concepts specific to D365 Finance & Operations.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities combined with strong presentation and stakeholder management skills. Familiarity with Microsoft implementation methodologies such as Success by Design and FastTrack principles is required.
