Huawei is seeking a highly skilled Senior IMS Core Planning Engineer to join their team in Islamabad. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IMS core network planning, capacity analysis, network design, optimization, and project support integration. This role demands a strong technical background and the ability to manage complex network environments while collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure optimal network performance and growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor network utilization, analyze growth trends, forecast traffic, and conduct capacity analysis across IMS core network elements to ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Develop and interpret end-to-end High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation for IMS core products including ATS, CSCF, SBC, and DRA/STP.
- Recommend and implement network optimization initiatives aimed at improving overall efficiency and service quality.
- Manage capital expenditure (CapEx) planning, budget forecasting, Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation, Request for Proposals (RFPs), and conduct technical evaluations of tenders.
- Coordinate with telecom vendors, contractors, and internal teams to assess and select appropriate technical solutions.
- Ensure network safety protocols are followed and provide support for project integration, commissioning, implementation, and acceptance of new network nodes.
- Analyze daily and weekly health check reports, monitor degraded Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and manage alarms within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), lead Major Incident Reviews (MIR), maintain Known Error Database (KEDB) documentation, and contribute to team skill development.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in core network engineering, with a strong focus on the IMS domain.
- In-depth knowledge of IMS core call flows and scenarios aligned with 3GPP, GSMA, IEEE, and ETSI standards.
- Expertise in IMS core nodes such as CSC, ATS, OCS, CCF, IM-MGW, SBC, and PCRF, along with protocols including SIP, Diameter, and H.248.
- Proficient troubleshooting skills using tools like Wireshark, IRIS, and Tektronix for internal and external tracing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a customer-focused approach.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with technical stakeholders ranging from junior engineers to senior management.
- Ability to respond quickly and make accurate decisions during critical situations.
- Willingness to continuously learn and grow within the role.
