Senior iOS Developer

We are seeking a Senior iOS App Developer to join our fully remote team on a full-time, long-term basis. In this role, you will take ownership of native iOS development using Swift and SwiftUI, while integrating Kotlin Multiplatform modules to share business logic across platforms. You will work hands-on to develop and enhance our mobile application, which leverages location and proximity technologies such as GPS, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and Ultra-Wideband (UWB). Your expertise will help solve complex technical challenges and improve workflows that incorporate AI-assisted and agentic coding tools. Additionally, you will mentor a junior developer learning AI-driven mobile development techniques, contributing to the growth and effectiveness of the team. The position offers a competitive salary based on experience and technical expertise, with an immediate start upon agreement.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and enhance the native iOS application using Swift and SwiftUI.
- Integrate Kotlin Multiplatform modules into the iOS app, ensuring seamless collaboration on shared business logic.
- Implement platform-specific features while maintaining consistent behavior across iOS and Android.
- Design and troubleshoot location and proximity functionalities involving GPS, BLE, UWB, and related hardware capabilities.
- Address iOS-specific challenges such as permissions, application lifecycle management, background execution, battery optimization, and device compatibility.
- Utilize AI coding assistants and autonomous coding agents extensively to implement features, debug issues, refactor code, and support testing.
- Establish and refine agentic development workflows, including task decomposition, project context management, automated checks, and code reviews.
- Review and validate AI-generated code to ensure correctness, maintainability, security, and performance.
- Conduct testing on real devices to identify issues beyond automated test coverage.
- Mentor junior team members through pair programming, demonstrations, and clear technical explanations.
- Support application signing, release preparation, and distribution via TestFlight and the App Store.
- Document key technical decisions and share reusable knowledge within the team.

Required Qualifications

- Proven senior-level experience delivering and maintaining production iOS applications.
- Strong practical knowledge of Swift, SwiftUI, and the iOS development ecosystem.
- Hands-on experience integrating Kotlin Multiplatform into native iOS projects.
- Solid understanding of application architecture, asynchronous programming, lifecycle management, and state management.
- Excellent debugging skills across application code, shared modules, APIs, and device behavior.
- Substantial experience using AI coding tools to deliver functional software.
- Keen interest in agentic coding and the ability to develop effective workflows around coding agents.
- Ability to critically assess AI-generated solutions and clearly explain technical decisions.
- Willingness and aptitude to mentor less experienced developers patiently and effectively.
- Self-motivated with strong communication skills and the ability to take ownership of results in a remote environment.
- Availability for a prompt start and commitment to a long-term, full-time role.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience with GPS positioning, geofencing, location accuracy, and sensor data integration.
- Knowledge of BLE discovery, advertising, connection management, and proximity detection.
- Familiarity with UWB ranging, distance measurement, direction estimation, and hardware compatibility.
- Understanding of NFC and other device-to-device interaction technologies.
- Expertise in interoperability between Swift and Kotlin Multiplatform, including asynchronous operations and error handling.
- Experience building automated development and testing workflows combining human oversight with AI coding agents.
