Senior Java Developer

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with a minimum of three years’ experience to join our team in Karachi. The ideal candidate will have specialized expertise in backend systems, hardware integrations, and low-level network programming. This role requires deep knowledge of Java (versions 17 and 21), Spring Boot, and socket programming (TCP/IP). Experience with Modbus communication protocols (Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP) is essential, as the developer will work on interfacing industrial hardware devices such as printers, cameras, and IoT sensors.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop high-throughput asynchronous I/O architectures using Netty. Write optimized SQL queries for PostgreSQL and MySQL databases, manage ORM frameworks like JPA/Hibernate, and handle connection pooling with HikariCP. Integrate event-driven tools such as Apache Kafka or Redis to enable real-time streaming of sensor data.

Demonstrate strong skills in multithreading, concurrency control, and system design. Utilize Docker for containerization and manage version control through Git. Conduct thorough code reviews and troubleshoot issues related to hardware communication latency to ensure system reliability and performance.

Required Qualifications

Proficient in Core Java (Java 8 and above), with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming, collections, streams, exception handling, and multithreading. Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, including REST API development, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, validation, and exception handling.

Experience with Spring Security, particularly JWT-based authentication and authorization. Knowledge of socket programming and WebSockets for real-time communication is required. Familiarity with microservices architecture, including service discovery, API gateways, and configuration management.

Strong database skills with MySQL and PostgreSQL, including database design, joins, indexing, and performance tuning. Practical experience with cloud fundamentals such as Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment processes.

Comfortable with inter-service communication methods like REST, Feign Client, RestTemplate, and WebClient. Experience in preparing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) materials, including API documentation using OpenAPI specifications and Postman collections.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Prior experience working with supply chain or factory automation systems will be considered a significant advantage.
