We are seeking a seasoned Senior Linux Administrator to oversee, maintain, and enhance our enterprise Linux infrastructure that supports critical telecommunications services. The ideal candidate will specialize in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and provide L2 operational support. This role involves managing OS upgrades, patching, security compliance, high availability, and automation through Ansible and shell scripting. The successful applicant must be adept at resolving complex production issues, ensuring continuous service availability, and working effectively within a 24/7 rotational shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer, configure, monitor, and optimize RHEL 7/8/9 systems to ensure stability, performance, and uptime.
- Conduct OS installations, upgrades, package management, repository setup, and post-upgrade validations.
- Perform scheduled and emergency patching, manage vulnerabilities using CVE/RHSA advisories, and maintain compliance via Red Hat Satellite.
- Manage Red Hat Pacemaker/PCS clusters, including cluster resources, fencing, failover troubleshooting, and high-availability configurations.
- Handle LVM, filesystems, storage allocation, mount points, capacity expansion, and troubleshoot related issues.
- Administer Linux users, groups, permissions, ACLs, sudo policies, SELinux, SSH hardening, and conduct access reviews.
- Configure Linux networking components such as IP addressing, routing, DNS, and Squid Proxy; collaborate with network teams to resolve connectivity problems.
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, inventories, roles, and shell scripts to automate routine administration and configuration tasks.
- Conduct incident triage, log analysis, fault isolation, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to restore and maintain services.
- Support server commissioning, bare-metal provisioning, RAID configurations, firmware updates, iDRAC/iLO management, Kickstart/PXE deployments, and VMware vSphere operations.
- Execute approved changes with detailed implementation and rollback plans, coordinate maintenance windows, and perform post-change validations.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, server inventories, patching records, audit evidence, and operational runbooks.
- Assist with ManageIQ workflows and provide Linux-level troubleshooting across OpenShift, OpenStack, SAN, and backup environments.
- Participate in 24/7 rotational shifts, weekend coverage, and on-call support to meet operational service level agreements (SLAs).

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years’ hands-on Linux administration experience in enterprise or telecommunications environments, including L2+ support and production operations.
- Expert knowledge of RHEL 7/8/9 administration, system troubleshooting, systemd, networking, LVM, OS upgrades, and package management.
- Strong experience with Red Hat Satellite, OS patching, vulnerability remediation, and security compliance.
- Proficiency in Ansible automation, shell scripting, Git, and Ansible Automation Tower.

- Familiarity with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, server provisioning, RAID, firmware, and hardware management tools.
- Solid understanding of Linux security hardening, SELinux, SSH, CVE remediation, access management, and audit requirements.
- Working knowledge of OpenShift, OpenStack, SAN, backup and recovery solutions, ManageIQ, and monitoring tools such as Splunk and OSQuery.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, incident management, and communication skills, with the ability to perform under pressure in a 24/7 rotational shift environment.
