The Senior Manager, Global Partnerships, is responsible for overseeing the management and stewardship of grants and partnerships secured from foundations and high net worth individuals. This role ensures effective engagement with partners, compliance with grant requirements, and internal monitoring and evaluation to guarantee the successful implementation and reporting of funded initiatives. The Senior Manager plays a critical role in nurturing long-term relationships that foster trust, transparency, and alignment between partners’ philanthropic goals and the organization’s mission. Collaboration across multiple departments is essential to understand internal workflows, identify opportunities for process improvements, and enhance organizational readiness for partnership delivery and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Partnership Management: Oversee relationships with global donors, foundations, corporations, and multilateral agencies to maintain strong, productive partnerships.
- Proposal & Grant Management: Lead the development of proposals, budgeting, and submission processes for funding opportunities. Monitor grant compliance, reporting, and ensure deliverables are met on time.
- Strategic Planning: Align partnership strategies with the organization’s goals and expansion priorities to maximize impact and sustainability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with fundraising, program, and communications teams to design and implement impactful projects and campaigns that resonate with partners and beneficiaries.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Track partnership performance and program progress, measure impact, and provide regular updates and reports to donors.
- Market Intelligence: Stay informed about international trends, funding landscapes, and emerging partnership opportunities to position the organization competitively.
- Innovation & Technology: Explore and apply AI tools and digital solutions to enhance efficiency in partnership management, reporting, data analysis, and decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record of managing high-value global partnerships or grants with a demonstrated ability to maintain and grow donor relationships.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, leadership, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively to major donors and stakeholders.
- Strong project management and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to operationalize, plan, and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively across cultures, time zones, and diverse stakeholder groups, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with CRM or donor management systems to support partnership tracking and reporting.
- Interest in leveraging emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to improve partnership management, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Education
A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, International Relations, Development Studies, or a related field is required.
Experience
Candidates should have at least 8 years of experience in partnership or grant management, fundraising, or international development, demonstrating a strong background in managing complex donor relationships and funding portfolios.
