Senior Manager - Data Engineer.MGN Pak - Digital Data Platforms.MIT - PAKCOE

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design and maintain both real-time and batch data pipelines, develop data strategies, and establish data architecture and best practices. This role is pivotal in leading strategic improvements within the organization’s data engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will work across multiple regions including UAE, Egypt, Pakistan, and other IBG areas, supporting data-intensive systems such as core banking, payment platforms, digital customer journeys, marketing systems, and risk and compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for real-time and batch processing to support various business needs.
- Create and implement data strategies and architecture that align with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Lead initiatives to improve data engineering solutions, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements from core systems, payment systems, marketing, risk, and compliance domains.
- Manage data platforms including Enterprise Data Lake, Azure Data Lake, Business Intelligence tools, Advanced Analytics, and Real-time Streaming platforms.
- Develop and estimate effort for new data requirements across both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Oversee data architecture design, change and release management, and resource allocation to meet project deadlines.
- Handle critical applications that impact the bank’s management decision-making processes, regulatory reporting, and operational reporting.
- Ensure data solutions comply with regulatory standards to avoid financial and non-financial penalties.
- Coordinate deliverables across various business groups within the bank, maintaining high standards of data quality and governance.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience in designing and managing data pipelines for both batch and real-time data processing.
- Strong knowledge of core banking systems, payment systems, digital journeys, marketing systems, and risk and compliance systems.
- Expertise in working with data platforms such as Enterprise Data Lake, Azure Data Lake, Business Intelligence, Advanced Analytics, and Real-time Streaming.
- Experience with both on-premises and cloud data lake environments.
- Ability to estimate project efforts, design effective data architectures, and manage change and release processes.
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple deliverables and coordinate across business units.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements related to data reporting and compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead strategic improvements in data engineering.
