This role involves leading the Facilities Management Department to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all hospital buildings and infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing maintenance and operations across multiple engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, civil, plumbing, HVAC, generators, and water supply systems. They will develop and implement maintenance programs, manage projects related to renovation and expansion, and coordinate with various stakeholders to maintain high standards of facility services that support both patients and caregivers.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and supervise daily operations within the Facilities Management Department. Oversee the maintenance and functioning of electrical, mechanical, civil, plumbing, HVAC, generators, water supply, and other engineering services to ensure uninterrupted hospital operations. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to optimize facility performance and ensure timely corrective actions. Ensure continuous utility services by establishing and maintaining appropriate contingency plans. Lead renovation, expansion, and refurbishment projects by coordinating with consultants, architects, contractors, and vendors. Monitor project timelines, budgets, quality standards, and regulatory compliance to ensure successful delivery. Manage annual maintenance contracts and service agreements, including monitoring contractor performance and ensuring adherence to contractual obligations. Collaborate with department heads to deliver high-quality facility services that meet the needs of patients and caregivers. Utilize IT tools proficiently for task registration, prioritization, tracking, and escalation. Apply risk-based strategies to identify and prioritize operational and project-based tasks across all facilitation areas.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. A minimum of 10 to 12 years of progressive experience in facilities management, with at least 5 years in a managerial or senior leadership role. Proven expertise in managing engineering systems, infrastructure projects, utilities, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams. Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are essential to effectively manage teams and collaborate across departments.
