Senior Manager, Virtualization & Citrix.MGN Pak - TECH - Technical Services.MIT - PAKCOE

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Manager Virtualization & Citrix Support Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware, Windows Server environments, and automation tools such as Ansible. A strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is essential. This role involves designing, deploying, and managing our infrastructure platform to ensure the availability, scalability, and performance of critical systems. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated professional with 5 to 8 years of hands-on engineering and administration experience in relevant technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, architecture, and deployment of VMware ESXi, vSAN, and associated solutions including vRealize Suite, Aria, SRM, and RP4VM to support the organization’s virtualization and application delivery needs. Implement and manage components of the vRealize Suite such as vRealize Automation (vRA), vRealize Operations Manager (vROps), vRealize Log Insight, and vRealize Business for Cloud to enhance infrastructure management, automation, and reporting capabilities.

Integrate Aria (formerly vRealize Orchestrator) with Citrix and VMware environments to automate routine tasks, workflows, and provisioning processes, thereby improving operational efficiency and reducing manual effort. Configure vROps to monitor the performance, capacity, and health of VMware and Citrix infrastructure, utilizing advanced analytics and predictive features to detect potential issues and optimize resource use.

Collaborate closely with storage and networking teams to design and implement vSAN configurations that meet performance, capacity, and resilience requirements. Develop custom dashboards, reports, and alerts within vROps to provide clear visibility into VMware ESXi and vSAN environments, enabling proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.

Lead efforts in performance tuning and optimization of VMware infrastructure by analyzing metrics, trends, and utilization patterns to improve resource allocation and system performance. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and IT staff, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development in VMware and related technologies.

Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and product updates in virtualization, cloud, and automation domains. Evaluate their relevance and potential impact on the organization’s IT strategy.

Required Qualifications

Extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing VMware ESXi and vSAN infrastructure in large-scale enterprise environments. Deep knowledge of the vRealize Suite, Aria (vRealize Orchestrator), SRM, and RP4VM, including configuration, customization, and integration with Citrix and VMware environments.

Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages to support infrastructure orchestration and automation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.

Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Proven track record of successful project delivery, technical leadership, and driving innovation in virtualization and cloud solutions.

Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Azure Stack, Hyper-V, Windows Servers, Citrix, cloud computing platforms, and hybrid cloud architectures is considered a plus.
