INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on advancing process automation solutions across industries including Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Utilities, and Renewable Energy. This role involves contributing to innovative projects by applying expertise in integrated control systems, SCADA virtualization, wellhead automation, and telecommunications. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering vendor-neutral, customized control, safety, and automation systems that enhance operational efficiency and reliability for diverse industrial clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and execute mechanical installation and erection activities at project sites in line with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Install and erect static and rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, mechanical packages, valves, and related components.
- Perform and oversee equipment positioning, leveling, alignment, bolting, torqueing, grouting, and mechanical assembly tasks.
- Verify equipment alignment, clearances, tolerances, dimensions, and installation compliance with approved drawings and manufacturer guidelines.
- Review and interpret P&IDs, piping isometrics, equipment drawings, general arrangement drawings, and mechanical layouts for site execution.
- Supervise piping installation and erection, ensuring correct installation of pipes, fittings, valves, supports, and associated mechanical elements.
- Oversee piping fit-up, alignment, joint inspection, support installation, and connection activities.
- Coordinate mechanical activities related to hydrotesting, pressure testing, flushing, cleaning, and system preparation.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical installation and site execution issues, collaborating with engineering, construction, and other disciplines as needed.
- Conduct and supervise mechanical pre-commissioning activities including equipment inspection, lubrication, alignment, rotation checks, and system readiness verification.
- Prepare and maintain mechanical completion and pre-commissioning checklists, inspection records, and documentation.
- Verify mechanical equipment and systems are complete, inspected, tested, and ready for commissioning and start-up.
- Participate in mechanical commissioning and start-up activities, including functional testing and initial equipment operation.
- Monitor equipment performance during commissioning, identifying abnormalities or operational issues.
- Perform mechanical adjustments, corrective actions, and troubleshooting during commissioning and start-up.
- Inspect completed mechanical works for compliance with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and manufacturer requirements.
- Identify installation deficiencies and coordinate timely rectification with relevant teams.
- Maintain and update mechanical inspection, testing, commissioning, and handover documentation.
- Manage and close mechanical punch-list items prior to system handover.
- Coordinate with QA/QC, Engineering, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Commissioning teams to ensure smooth execution and system readiness.
- Supervise hydrotesting, pressure testing, flushing, cleaning, leak testing, and mechanical equipment checks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5 to 6 years of relevant mechanical execution experience.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping systems, installation, erection, and commissioning.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, piping isometrics, equipment drawings, GA drawings, and mechanical specifications.
- Hands-on experience in mechanical installation, erection, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
- Experience with static and rotating equipment.
