INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join its Project Monitoring and Control team. This role is essential for leading project planning, scheduling, progress measurement, and project controls for complex EPC projects within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Utilities, and Manufacturing sectors. The successful candidate will have 8 to 10 years of experience in EPC project planning, with strong expertise in Primavera P6, integrated scheduling, progress forecasting, and project controls. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to proactive project management, ensuring visibility, accountability, and quality control throughout all phases of project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain integrated, resource-loaded, and cost-loaded project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, ensuring alignment with contractual milestones and project execution strategies.
- Coordinate schedules across engineering teams, consultants, procurement, fabrication subcontractors, construction, and commissioning disciplines.
- Review consultant and subcontractor schedules, validate progress updates, track engineering deliverables, and ensure compliance with approved baselines.
- Prepare manpower plans and resource forecasts, identify constraints, and recommend adjustments to support smooth project execution.
- Establish progress measurement systems that integrate schedule, cost, and man-hour data for earned value and performance analysis.
- Analyze critical paths, schedule variances, and project trends; forecast completion dates while proactively identifying risks and potential delays.
- Develop and monitor recovery plans, including schedule resequencing and resource adjustments, to safeguard contractual milestones.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, S-curves, look-ahead schedules, and performance dashboards utilizing advanced Excel and Power BI.
- Assess schedule impacts of scope changes and disruptions, supporting delay analysis and extension-of-time submissions in collaboration with Project Management and Commercial teams.
- Maintain project baselines, revisions, progress records, and reporting documentation through SharePoint or approved project collaboration platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in planning, scheduling, and project controls for EPC projects, including structural fabrication.
- Proven ability to manage integrated project schedules covering engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, consultants, procurement, and subcontractors, including deliverable tracking and schedule reviews.
- Working knowledge of structural fabrication milestones and their interfaces with engineering, procurement, inspections, and delivery.
- Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, advanced Microsoft Excel, and Power BI; familiarity with SharePoint and project collaboration tools.
- Solid understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM), S-curves, resource and cost loading, earned value management, schedule risk assessment, recovery planning, and delay analysis.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, bills of quantities, contractual milestones, and project controls requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Strong ownership, attention to detail, and capability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and escalating risks proactively.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- PMI-SP, PMP, or equivalent planning or project management certification is preferred.
- EPC experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or industrial projects is advantageous.
