Our client, a confidential organization, is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a Nutrition Program based in Peshawar. The Provincial Project Manager will serve as the organization’s senior-most representative in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and will lead the implementation of the Benazir Nashonuma Programme (BNP) across eight districts. This role requires strategic leadership to ensure effective project delivery, coordination with government departments, BISP, NADRA, UN agencies, and other stakeholders, while maintaining compliance with organizational and donor standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provincial Leadership, Coordination & Representation:
Act as the primary focal point and senior representative for BNP in KP, providing strategic oversight of provincial operations. Develop and maintain strong coordination with provincial and district government line departments, BISP, NADRA, and UN agencies to enhance program credibility and sustainability. Represent the organization at various forums to promote BNP’s objectives, increase visibility, and lead advocacy efforts. Facilitate inclusive planning and coordination platforms with diverse stakeholders to build consensus and collective ownership of nutrition, health, and social protection goals.
Project Management:
Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of BNP activities across all target districts, ensuring adherence to program strategies, timelines, and work plans. Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies promptly. Provide leadership to project teams to achieve positive outcomes for beneficiaries and local authorities. Contribute to the development and implementation of nutrition interventions, including data collection, reporting, monitoring tools, and quality assurance processes. Ensure beneficiary participation and accountability throughout the project lifecycle. Oversee timely and accurate reporting in line with organizational and donor requirements.
Staff & Team Management:
Manage provincial Program, HR, and Logistics teams, including daily operations, staff development, training, and performance evaluations. Supervise and mentor district teams through coaching and technical support. Facilitate regular cross-departmental meetings to ensure alignment on objectives and work plans. Collaborate with the capacity-building unit to assess and address training needs, ensuring effective application in the field. Maintain clear communication channels between field teams and provincial and head offices.
Operational Support:
Provide operational guidance to district teams to ensure smooth service delivery. Oversee procurement, logistics, and administrative functions, coordinating with relevant staff to ensure proper management of resources. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements. Facilitate timely resource allocation to districts.
Budget Management & Compliance:
Manage project budgets with transparency and accountability, ensuring expenditures align with approved budgets and financial policies. Monitor spending and prepare variance analyses and financial reports for management and donors. Support audits, spot checks, compliance reviews, and implement corrective measures as needed.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL):
Continuously monitor project activities and evaluate progress using quantitative and qualitative data. Ensure timely collection and consolidation of district-level data. Conduct field visits to provide feedback and ensure data quality and compliance with reporting standards. Document lessons learned and best practices to support knowledge management and inform future programming.
Safeguarding & Code of Conduct:
Promote and uphold the organization’s Code of Conduct, safeguarding policies, and Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) standards. Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment, ensuring all team members understand and comply with safeguarding obligations.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Nutrition, Public Health, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in nutrition or program planning/management, preferably in maternal and child health/nutrition, with at least 2-5 years in a senior or provincial-level project management role.
- Proven experience managing humanitarian or development projects, ideally with UN or donor-funded programs.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent communication, representation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Advanced skills in data analysis and reporting, with familiarity in health/nutrition data collection tools and software.
- Experience in training facilitation and capacity building.
- Competence in negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
- Ability to strategically plan, work under pressure, and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant data/reporting software.
- Fluency in English and Urdu; working knowledge of Saraiki or KP local languages is an advantage.
- Based in Peshawar with frequent travel to target districts and occasional visits to provincial and head offices.
