Senior QA Automation Engineer / SDET

Dealers Hub, a UK-based automotive technology company, is seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Automation Engineer / SDET to lead and own the quality assurance framework across its advanced Dealer Management System (DMS) platform. This hands-on role involves designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive QA processes from the ground up. The platform includes vehicle inventory management, dealership websites, CRM functionality, third-party advertising integrations, AI-powered tools, and business automation. The ideal candidate will have the technical expertise and initiative to establish scalable automated testing frameworks and ensure the highest software quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Establish and lead the overall QA strategy, processes, and testing standards for the company’s platform.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks.
- Collaborate with the development team to implement unit testing standards.
- Develop automated functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end tests.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to ensure code quality before deployment.
- Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and maintain detailed testing documentation.
- Test ASP.NET Core applications, REST APIs, SQL Server databases, and third-party integrations.
- Investigate recurring software defects and work with developers on root-cause analysis.
- Define release testing procedures and establish quality gates prior to production deployment.
- Introduce and manage bug tracking, defect prioritization, and quality reporting processes.
- Conduct performance, load, and reliability testing.
- Collaborate closely with developers to improve code quality, testability, and system stability.
- Continuously enhance test coverage and reduce production defects.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in software QA with strong hands-on expertise in test automation.
- Proven track record of establishing or significantly improving QA automation processes.
- Proficient programming skills in C# within a .NET environment.
- Experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks like xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest.
- Strong experience in REST API testing using tools such as Postman.
- Good understanding of ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, and Entity Framework.
- Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD platforms like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Solid knowledge of functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing methodologies.
- Experience using bug tracking and test management tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of QA processes.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience working with SaaS products or Dealer Management Systems is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Docker and cloud-based testing environments.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
- Experience testing complex third-party API integrations.
