Senior QA Engineer

Chai Vision, a fast-growing eCommerce company managing a diverse range of direct-to-consumer brands, is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join its Product Development team onsite in Pakistan. Reporting to the Head of EDI Integrations, this role offers the chance to build and lead the company’s quality assurance efforts across multiple engineering areas including Development, AI, IoT, and integrations. The Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for the entire QA lifecycle—from test planning and automation to release validation and defect management—ensuring high product quality and reliability at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed test plans by translating requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria into comprehensive test scenarios, identifying risks early in the development process. Execute various testing types such as functional, regression, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and cross-platform testing across web, mobile, internal tools, APIs, and IoT applications.

Validate business workflows, data flows, and integration points between systems, including REST APIs and service integrations, using tools like Postman or Insomnia. Build and maintain automated test suites for regression and API testing, integrating these into development and release workflows to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Conduct mobile and IoT testing, covering device pairing, connectivity (Bluetooth/BLE, Wi-Fi), data synchronization, OTA updates, and failure scenario validation. Manage the defect lifecycle from identification to resolution, ensuring clear and reproducible bug reports while collaborating closely with developers to verify fixes.

Review release scope and perform thorough release validation, providing clear assessments of release readiness and supporting post-release quality checks. Establish and continuously improve QA processes, including test case structure, defect reporting standards, release checklists, and quality metrics.

Leverage AI-assisted testing tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and GitHub Copilot to improve test scenario generation, coverage, and automation while validating AI outputs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Development, AI, IoT, Product, and Engineering Leadership to drive quality improvements and sprint planning.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Three to five or more years of professional QA/testing experience with strong knowledge of functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, end-to-end, exploratory, and negative testing methodologies.

Proficiency in API testing using tools like Postman or equivalents. Experience with test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Appium, and working with web and mobile applications. Strong defect reporting and debugging skills, with experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using tools like Jira.

Basic coding skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#. Familiarity with automated testing in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Preferred candidates will have experience in mobile QA (iOS/Android), IoT or connected-device testing, BLE/Wi-Fi device testing, and platforms like Tuya or similar IoT ecosystems. Experience with e-commerce or ERP/EDI integration testing and establishing QA processes from scratch is a plus.
