Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quantity Surveyor to oversee all cost-related aspects of building and civil engineering projects. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that the financial and contractual elements of our projects are managed efficiently, remain within budget, and deliver maximum value for money. This position requires a proactive professional who can contribute to both pre-contract and ongoing project phases, supporting the team in achieving cost-effective and high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Contract Duties:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, material and labor take-offs, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) based on architectural and engineering drawings.
- Negotiate rates, pricing, and contract terms with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
- Conduct initial cost feasibility assessments and value engineering studies to optimize design alternatives and enhance project viability.

Required Qualifications

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience:
- Minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost consultancy within the construction industry.

Technical Knowledge:
- Proficiency in measurement and takeoff methods essential for accurate cost estimation.
- Familiarity with standard construction contracts and their application.
- Working knowledge of estimation and takeoff software such as AutoCAD, Plan Swift, BBS, or MS Excel.

Soft Skills:
- Strong numerical aptitude and analytical skills.
- Excellent negotiation abilities to manage supplier and subcontractor relationships effectively.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to address challenges proactively.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.

Compensation and Work Location
The position offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs80,000 to Rs100,000. This role requires the candidate to work on-site to closely coordinate with project teams and ensure seamless execution of responsibilities.
