Senior Shopify Developer - German Company

You will take ownership of existing Shopify projects and manage them independently from start to finish, requiring minimal daily oversight. This role involves building and fixing Shopify themes using Liquid, sections/blocks, and JSON templates, as well as implementing custom storefront user experiences with JavaScript. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining Shopify apps, preferably using Node, Remix, and React, and working with Shopify Admin GraphQL, webhooks, and app proxies. Debugging production issues related to cart functionality, checkout flows, metafields, pricing logic, and integrations will be a key part of your duties. Additionally, you will deploy and maintain apps, utilizing basic VPS knowledge including PM2, log management, and environment variables.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and troubleshoot Shopify themes, leveraging Liquid, sections/blocks, and JSON templates.
- Implement custom storefront UX enhancements using JavaScript.
- Develop and maintain Shopify applications with a focus on Node, Remix, and React frameworks.
- Work extensively with Shopify Admin GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and app proxy configurations.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues affecting cart, checkout, metafields, pricing, and third-party integrations.
- Deploy and maintain applications on VPS environments, managing processes with PM2 and handling logs and environment variables.
- Operate autonomously, planning your own schedule and consistently delivering results without needing daily task assignments.
- Communicate effectively through concise daily updates and clear, focused questions.
- Maintain a fast-paced, positive, and momentum-driven work ethic.

Required Qualifications
- Proven expertise in Shopify theme development, specifically with Liquid, Dawn theme patterns, and sections/blocks.
- Strong JavaScript debugging skills, including DOM manipulation, event handling, asynchronous programming, and network request troubleshooting.
- Experience working with Shopify APIs such as Admin GraphQL, webhooks, and managing metafields/metaobjects.
- Proficiency with Git and maintaining a clean pull request workflow.
- Ability to read logs and trace bugs across both frontend and backend systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently.
- Self-management skills with a high degree of initiative and problem-solving capability.
- Strong communication skills to provide clear updates and collaborate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills
- Experience in Shopify app development using Node, Remix, React, and database tools like Prisma or SQLite.
- Familiarity with Shopify Functions, particularly related to cart transformations and checkout processes.
- Basic server operations knowledge, including PM2 process management, web servers such as Caddy or Nginx, Linux command line, and SSH.
- Background in performance optimization and storefront speed improvements.
