Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, scale, and maintain cloud-native data systems on AWS, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Automate storage and infrastructure operations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Pulumi.
- Support AI infrastructure components, including vector databases like Milvus, Weaviate, or Pinecone.
- Collaborate closely with machine learning engineers and platform teams to enable services powered by large language models (LLMs).
- Monitor and optimize system performance using observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Participate in on-call rotations and lead post-incident reviews to uphold operational excellence.
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-efficient environments that are AI-ready.
- Manage and support a diverse range of distributed systems including MySQL, Postgres, Kafka, Cassandra, Redis, and OpenSearch, alongside emerging workloads like embedding stores and LLM query caches.
- Contribute to AI-driven use cases such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agent memory systems, and AI observability tooling.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 to 8 years of experience managing distributed systems at scale.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, or Bash.
- Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with distributed messaging and caching systems including Kafka, Redis, and Cassandra.
- Demonstrated curiosity and eagerness to learn about AI infrastructure integration, including vector stores and model serving platforms.
