Senior Software Engineer – 5G CRAN Software

Currently expanding its footprint in India, Saab is seeking experienced software engineers to join its Hyderabad office. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation 5G/6G Cloud RAN software, working within dynamic, cross-functional teams focused on engineering excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and debug software using strong C/C++ programming skills.
- Engage in 5G Cloud RAN software development and testing activities.
- Apply working knowledge of 5G schedulers, Layer 1 (L1), and Layer 2 (L2) protocols.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of 5G NR, 4G LTE, and 3GPP specifications.
- Work with test channel simulators such as Viavi or equivalent tools.
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum processes using tools like JIRA.
- Contribute to feature development, integration, testing, and code reviews.
- Collaborate effectively across cross-functional engineering teams.
- Show interest in AI-driven development, AI agents, and workflow automation.
- Maintain a strong focus on software quality, continuous improvement, and system-level engineering.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in 5G technology and software development.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to undergo and successfully complete security vetting as per applicable regulations.
