Senior Software Engineer - Backend

Key Responsibilities

- Develop a thorough and current understanding of Dubizzle’s codebase, technologies, and industry trends.
- Share broad technical knowledge and architectural insights, acting as a mentor within your product stream and across teams.
- Collaborate closely with other Leads and Senior engineers to consistently deliver software that meets the highest quality standards.
- Advocate and enforce company-wide coding standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership by setting challenging yet achievable goals, guiding teams toward successful project completion.
- Influence the technical vision and strategic direction within your product stream.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Infrastructure, Design, UX, CLM, and Strategy to ensure top-tier product delivery.
- Recruit top engineering talent to build high-performing teams and continuously raise the bar for technical excellence.
- Own key business KPIs as a bridge between the Product team and business functions.
- Take accountability for technical decisions, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and long-term goals.
- Mentor and coach team members to develop the next generation of technical leaders.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 6 years of experience in software engineering.
- Strong expertise in open-source technologies such as Python, PHP, or Java.
- Deep understanding of popular web application frameworks like Django, Laravel, or Spring Boot.
- Proficiency in source code management, build process automation, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Experience designing and architecting scalable, highly available systems.
- Solid knowledge of leadership, coaching, and mentoring best practices.
- Experience working on high-traffic, large-scale web applications is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies including Kanban, Scrum, and XP.
- Good grasp of product design and user experience principles.
- Proven track record in analysis, design, coding, and implementation of next-generation web applications.
