Senior Software Engineer - Java & SQL

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java and SQL to contribute to the enhancement of existing applications and the development of new features. In this role, you will take a leadership position in software design, working closely with product engineers, support teams, and onsite colleagues to deliver reliable, efficient, and scalable solutions. Your contributions will be critical in maintaining and improving core platforms while ensuring high-quality performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop software patches and implement new features to improve application functionality.
- Collaborate with product engineers to enhance core platforms and optimize system performance.
- Write and review technical documentation, including design and development specifications.
- Build applications using standard development tools and cloud-based technologies.
- Test, debug, and update programs to maintain high standards of quality and reliability.
- Analyze and modify existing programs to improve efficiency or meet evolving requirements.
- Resolve escalated customer issues originating from Tier I and Tier II support teams.
- Investigate, document, and troubleshoot complex technical challenges to ensure timely resolution.

Required Qualifications

- 5 to 8 years of professional experience in software engineering roles.
- Strong expertise in Java and SQL, with proven proficiency in cloud software development tools.
- Ability to write and review code in both compiled and scripted programming languages.
- Solid background in testing, debugging, and maintaining software applications.
- Willingness and flexibility to collaborate across multiple time zones and work closely with onsite engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its associated services.
- Knowledge of Java Native Interface (JNI), gRPC, and Protocol Buffers for efficient communication between services.
- Understanding of Microservices Architecture Style and its implementation in modern software systems.
