We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer with deep expertise in .NET development and cloud-native architectures. The successful candidate will apply advanced software engineering principles, including object-oriented and domain-driven design, to build scalable, resilient, and maintainable applications. You will work extensively with Microsoft Azure services to design and implement cloud solutions that meet stringent functional and non-functional requirements such as performance, security, and reliability. This role involves leading API and microservices development, mentoring engineering teams, and ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards. Reporting to an Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the technical direction and delivering innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and deliver scalable applications using software engineering principles like object-oriented design, domain-driven design, and distributed systems architecture.
- Develop cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure, leveraging App Services, Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, and containerized workloads to ensure high availability and fault tolerance.
- Write high-quality, secure, and performant code in C# and .NET, following architectural patterns and secure coding standards.
- Lead the design and development of RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures, managing versioning, backward compatibility, and contract integrity.
- Develop and optimize relational and non-relational data models using SQL Server and other platforms to ensure data integrity and scalability.
- Implement and guide CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or equivalent tools, including automated builds, testing, infrastructure as code, and deployment strategies.
- Mentor and coach engineers on architectural patterns, coding standards, testing strategies, and best engineering practices to enhance team capability and code quality.
- Conduct thorough code reviews focusing on maintainability, performance, security, and compliance with architectural standards.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, regulatory requirements, and internal governance policies when handling sensitive or regulated data.
- Utilize AI-driven development lifecycle practices, including writing specifications for AI agents, reviewing AI-generated code, and integrating AI tools for test generation, code review, and documentation.
- Build generative AI features in .NET using Azure OpenAI or Azure AI Foundry, including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and orchestration frameworks like Semantic Kernel.
- Work with agentic AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Claude, and manage integrations with internal APIs, databases, and pipelines.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in .NET development and software architecture.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Proficiency in C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core.
- Strong experience with MS SQL Server, T-SQL, and relational database design.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, or ReactJS.
- Solid understanding of Azure Cloud Solutions (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS), including Azure Entra, App Services, Azure Functions, API Management, and Azure SQL.
- Experience with API development and integrations.
- Knowledge of SSIS, ETL processes, and Azure Data Factory.
- Expertise in common architectural patterns, cloud-native development, microservices architecture, Docker, and containerization.
- Experience with Entity Framework or other Object-Relational Mappers (ORM).
- Proven experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with AI-driven development lifecycles and generative AI technologies integrated into software development.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience working with agentic AI tools and spec-driven agentic development.
- Familiarity with MCP servers and tools enabling AI agents to interact with internal APIs, databases, and pipelines.
- Exposure to building GenAI features using Azure AI services, including prompt engineering and semantic orchestration.
- Use of AI assistants for test generation, code review, refactoring, and documentation with appropriate human oversight.
