Senior SQA Automation Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with 8+ years of expertise to develop, enhance, and maintain automated testing solutions for complex enterprise systems. This role demands strong technical skills in test automation frameworks, CI/CD integration, regression and API automation, and collaboration with cross-functional testing teams. You will work closely with the Manual Test Lead, engineering, and DevOps teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage, quality, and stability throughout release cycles.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Development & Maintenance:
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for regression, functional, and system integration testing (SIT).
- Design and create reusable automation frameworks, utilities, and libraries.
- Debug, optimize, and enhance test scripts to improve reliability and performance.
- Ensure automated tests are scalable, modular, and adhere to industry best practices.

CI/CD Integration:
- Integrate automated test suites into Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent pipelines.
- Configure automated execution triggers for nightly builds, code merges, and release cycles.
- Implement reporting and log outputs directly into CI/CD dashboards.

Testing & Quality Assurance:
- Guarantee comprehensive test coverage, including UI, API, SIT, and end-to-end scenarios.
- Collaborate with the Manual Test Lead to identify suitable automation candidates and prioritize tasks.
- Prepare detailed test reports, execution logs, error summaries, and coverage metrics.
- Participate in defect triage meetings, providing technical insights on automation failures.

Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with developers, architects, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure test environment readiness.
- Mentor junior team members on automation best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in testing methodologies and tools.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills & Expertise:
- Strong hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestNG, and JUnit.
- Proven ability to design frameworks from scratch, building scalable and modular architectures.
- Proficiency in API automation tools like REST Assured, Postman, Karate, or similar, with the ability to automate REST APIs and validate request/response structures.
- Strong programming skills in at least two languages among Java, Python, and JavaScript.
- Experience integrating automation with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Bitbucket Pipelines.
- Solid understanding of Git-based workflows.
- Competence in SQL for backend validation and test data preparation.
- Deep knowledge of system integration testing (SIT), end-to-end (E2E) testing, regression testing, and testing complex enterprise systems.
- Banking and fintech industry experience is preferred.
