Senior Systems Engineer

Fueled is a leading digital strategy, design, and engineering agency with a team of over 300 professionals. We have designed and built hundreds of digital products for renowned brands such as Google, Apple, The New York Times, ESPN, Victoria’s Secret, MGM Resorts, Albertsons, and CLEAR. We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our remote team, primarily targeting applicants based in South Asia, preferably within IST or PKT time zones. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing scalable infrastructure platforms that support workloads ranging from small projects to enterprise-scale client environments. You will leverage your expertise in infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and CDK, while driving automation and cloud-native solutions across AWS and Azure, with additional exposure to GCP and Oracle Cloud considered a plus.

Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end cloud infrastructure by architecting, deploying, and managing highly available environments on AWS and Azure using Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and CDK. Lead production Kubernetes workloads in EKS and AKS, handling upgrades, networking, and autoscaling.
- Serve as the Linux subject matter expert by building and tuning systems, configuring and troubleshooting core services such as NGINX, MariaDB, and Redis, and ensuring performance, security, and reliability from the kernel level upward.
- Operate and scale data and caching layers, including MariaDB/Galera clusters, Redis, Memcached, and Elasticsearch. Apply performance tuning and infrastructure-as-code workflows to maintain speed and resilience.
- Engineer CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Azure DevOps. Automate repetitive operational tasks with Python and Bash scripting to enhance developer productivity.
- Lead efforts in observability, security, and performance by evolving monitoring systems across metrics, logs, and traces. Participate in incident response and 24/7 on-call rotations, and drive load-testing initiatives to improve platform stability and security.

Required Qualifications
- Proven senior-level experience in platform engineering or DevOps, preferably operating at scale or within multi-tenant environments, with strong hands-on expertise in AWS and Azure. Multi-cloud experience including GCP and Oracle Cloud is advantageous.
- Deep knowledge of Linux systems administration, including setup, tuning, troubleshooting, and hardening. Demonstrated success managing infrastructure as code projects using Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or CDK from inception through ongoing maintenance.
- Experience running production Kubernetes environments (EKS/AKS), including upgrades, networking, and troubleshooting. Skilled in managing production-grade services such as NGINX, MariaDB/Galera, Redis/Memcached, and Elasticsearch.
- Strong automation skills with advanced Python and/or Bash scripting. Proven ability to build and optimize CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, GitLab, or similar tools. Familiarity with modern observability tools and security best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write clear documentation and collaborate effectively across systems and application teams. Comfortable participating in a 24/7 support rotation and working with complex client workloads, including high-scale WordPress and headless setups.
