Senior Systems & Virtualization Engineer

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Systems & Virtualization Engineer to oversee and support our enterprise infrastructure, including virtualization, servers, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and hybrid cloud environments. This role is critical in ensuring high availability, optimal performance, robust security, and resilience across essential business and digital services.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer and maintain VMware environments such as vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
- Manage virtual machine provisioning, migrations, upgrades, and features including HA, DRS, vMotion, and Storage vMotion, while optimizing system performance.
- Support infrastructure that hosts ERP systems, digital platforms, investor portals, websites, CRM, and internal business applications.
- Administer Windows Server and Linux environments, covering Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services.
- Support Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, identity management, and cloud migration initiatives.
- Manage SAN/NAS storage solutions and enterprise backup systems, specifically Veeam Backup & Replication and Azure Backup.
- Conduct backup validation, recovery testing, and assist with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and execution.
- Monitor infrastructure health, promptly resolve incidents within SLA, and perform root cause analysis for recurring issues.
- Implement server hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation, and enforce infrastructure security controls.
- Collaborate with datacenter teams, vendors, managed service providers, and internal stakeholders during incidents, upgrades, and infrastructure projects.
- Maintain comprehensive infrastructure documentation, including diagrams, standard operating procedures, asset records, recovery procedures, and operational reports.
- Support capacity planning, performance tuning, and technology upgrades to ensure infrastructure scalability and reliability.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Systems Administration or Infrastructure Engineering.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with enterprise VMware administration.
- Strong background in supporting enterprise and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with remote teams, vendors, and within distributed IT environments.

Mandatory Technical Skills

- VMware technologies: vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, vMotion.
- Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.
- Cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure.
- Backup solutions: Veeam Backup & Replication, Azure Backup.
- Storage systems: SAN and NAS.
- Scripting: PowerShell.
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning.
- Infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, patching, and security hardening.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

Preferred technical skills include VMware NSX, VMware Horizon, Azure Site Recovery, Linux distributions (RHEL/Ubuntu), Terraform, Ansible, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365.

Preferred certifications are VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV), Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE), Red Hat Certified System Administrator/Engineer (RHCSA/RHCE), and ITIL Foundation.
