Senior Video Editor

Zealancy is seeking a talented Video Editor skilled in storytelling, motion design, and AI visual generation to transform raw footage and creative ideas into captivating, high-retention YouTube content. This full-time role is based onsite in Karachi, with working hours from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Compensation ranges from PKR 45,000 to 120,000 per month, determined by skill level, portfolio strength, experience, and trial performance. The position focuses on documentary-style, talking-head, creator-led, and long-form YouTube videos. Candidates will be evaluated primarily on their portfolio and creative execution rather than traditional job titles.

Key Responsibilities:
- Edit long-form YouTube videos from raw footage through to final delivery.
- Develop strong intros and hooks that generate curiosity and maintain viewer attention.
- Structure videos with a focus on storytelling, pacing, and viewer retention.
- Create and integrate motion graphics, typography, animations, and visual effects.
- Utilize B-roll, graphics, screenshots, stock footage, music, and sound effects purposefully.
- Generate and incorporate AI visuals for storytelling, B-roll, concepts, and creative sequences using tools like Higgsfield AI and similar platforms.
- Seamlessly combine AI-generated visuals with traditional editing, motion design, graphics, and sound to ensure visual consistency.
- Apply basic color correction and grading as needed.
- Translate scripts, dialogue, and creative concepts into engaging visual sequences.
- Accurately interpret references and replicate editing styles without direct copying.
- Apply fundamental graphic design and layout principles when creating visual assets.
- Manage revisions professionally and efficiently.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and communicate any blockers promptly.
- Deliver high-quality work within agreed deadlines.

Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
- Strong understanding of motion design and animation principles.
- Excellent sense of pacing, rhythm, sound design, and visual composition.
- Good typography and layout judgment.
- Basic knowledge of color correction and grading.
- Skillful B-roll selection and visual storytelling ability.
- Effective project organization and asset management.
- Ability to troubleshoot routine editing and workflow issues independently.
- Hands-on experience with AI visual generation and AI-assisted creative workflows.
- Familiarity with Higgsfield AI or comparable AI image and video generation tools.
- Capability to generate, refine, and integrate AI visuals into professional edits.
- Strong judgment regarding visual consistency, realism, continuity, and quality when using AI-generated assets.
- Solid English comprehension, especially for working with English-language scripts.
- Understanding of YouTube storytelling and viewer retention strategies.
- Ability to analyze and explain why specific editing decisions work.
- Awareness of purposeful creative decisions versus mere decorative effects.
- Ability to translate scripts and abstract ideas into compelling AI-assisted visual sequences.
- Familiarity with creator-led content styles, referencing creators like Johnny Harris and Colin & Samir.
