The Construction Manager is responsible for monitoring project progress, handling materials and labor efficiently, and maintaining clear communication channels with contractors and suppliers to avoid delays and ensure quality work. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances are crucial. Proficiency in MS Office and project reporting enhances the capacity to document and communicate project status. This position demands a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience, with a preference for candidates who have demonstrated success in managing complex construction projects in the residential or commercial sectors.
Responsibilities
- Develop, monitor, and manage detailed construction schedules to ensure timely completion of projects according to agreed timelines.
- Oversee site supervision activities to maintain adherence to project plans, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with contractors, suppliers, and labor to ensure availability and proper handling of materials.
- Review and interpret Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and ensure material procurement aligns with project requirements.
- Implement rigorous quality control measures throughout the construction process to uphold project standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and resolve any issues impacting project progress or quality.
- Maintain thorough documentation and prepare project reports highlighting progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with local safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with project planners and engineers to revise plans and schedules as needed based on site conditions and project changes.
- Resolve onsite technical and operational issues promptly by analyzing situations and applying appropriate solutions.
- Manage labor resources efficiently, ensuring proper allocation of tasks, productivity, and motivation on site.
- Monitor project budgets, track expenses related to materials and labor, and report deviations or risks to management.
- Assist in procurement and vendor negotiations to secure quality materials at competitive prices.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders to provide regular updates and foster transparent collaboration.
- Leverage MS Office tools for project scheduling, documentation, reporting, and communication facilitation.
