Senior Video Editor / Motion Designer

Sharpcut Creations is seeking an exceptionally talented Senior Video Editor and Motion Graphics Designer to join our team on a full-time, onsite basis. This role is designed for a creative professional who goes beyond basic video editing to craft compelling, story-driven content that captures and sustains viewer attention across multiple platforms. The successful candidate brings not only technical expertise with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects but also a deep understanding of storytelling, pacing, retention, and modern viral editing techniques. This position requires working onsite from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM, Monday through Saturday, and owning a capable editing workstation. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the creative team to transform raw footage, scripts, and concepts into polished, emotionally engaging videos and motion graphics. You must have strong editorial judgment, be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to independently execute projects while integrating sound design and motion graphics elements that enhance narrative impact. This senior-level position demands a portfolio demonstrating high-retention content, advanced motion design, and a keen eye for quality that elevates videos beyond conventional editing.
Responsibilities

Edit both short-form and long-form video content with a focus on storytelling and viewer retention.
Transform raw footage into polished videos incorporating creative hooks, smooth pacing, and compelling narratives.
Apply advanced video editing techniques including multicam, color correction, keyframing, and adjustment layers within Adobe Premiere Pro.
Create professional and purposeful motion graphics and visual effects using Adobe After Effects such as animated titles, kinetic typography, logo animations, lower thirds, and visual storytelling elements.
Construct videos that maintain viewer engagement by implementing retention-based editing strategies like curiosity gaps, pattern interrupts, and momentum through pacing.
Use sound design effectively to enhance the emotional and narrative impact of videos, incorporating music, ambient sounds, dialogue, and sound effects.
Adapt editing style appropriately for different platforms including YouTube, Instagram Reels, TikTok, LinkedIn, and emerging short-form video platforms, while keeping current viral content trends in mind.
Conceptualize and execute creative B-roll, punch-ins/punch-outs, rapid visual changes, and platform-specific transitions that elevate content quality.
Maintain professional video export standards suitable for a variety of digital and social media channels.
Work independently with creative ownership, demonstrating strong attention to detail and high standards of quality assurance.
Continuously study evolving trends in video editing and motion graphics to ensure content remains fresh, engaging, and competitive.
Participate in practical editing tests or review sessions to showcase editing ability, story structure, attention to pacing, and technical proficiency.
Collaborate with team members while taking initiative to make editorial and creative decisions that improve final output.
Ensure all video projects meet company guidelines for quality, branding consistency, and audience engagement.
