The Logistics and Procurement Officer is responsible for ensuring efficient procurement of goods and services and effective logistics management in support of project implementation. The role ensures transparency, compliance with organizational and donor procurement policies, timely availability of supplies, and proper management of assets and logistics systems.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage procurement activities including sourcing, vendor selection, and purchase order processing according to organizational policies and donor guidelines.
- Maintain and update inventory records, ensuring accuracy and timely replenishment of stock to prevent shortages.
- Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships to negotiate favorable prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor and track the delivery of goods and services to guarantee compliance with quality standards and timely receipt.
- Manage logistics coordination to facilitate the distribution and transportation of materials to project sites efficiently.
- Conduct regular market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost optimization strategies in procurement.
- Ensure all procurement documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with internal controls and external funding requirements.
- Collaborate with program and finance teams to forecast procurement needs and prepare budget estimations for supplies and services.
- Assist with audits and reporting by providing necessary procurement and logistics documentation and data.
- Stay updated with procurement regulations, market trends, and innovations to improve procurement and logistics operations.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Procurement, Finance, or related field.
