Key Responsibilities:

Advanced Teaching and Instruction:

Develop, deliver, and evaluate advanced lectures, problem-based learning sessions, and laboratory practicals for undergraduate (MBBS/BDS) and postgraduate students (MD/MPhil/FCPS residents) in General Pathology and specialized Histopathology.
Lead and innovate in curriculum development and revision for Histopathology courses, integrating the latest advancements and clinical relevance.
Supervise, mentor, and assess the clinical and academic progress of postgraduate residents, ensuring their comprehensive training in diagnostic histopathology.
Provide expert academic advising and guidance to students and junior faculty.

Specialized Diagnostic Services (Histopathology):

Provide expert diagnostic interpretation of complex surgical pathology specimens, including challenging cases, frozen sections, and specialized biopsies.
Oversee and ensure the quality and accuracy of grossing, tissue processing, immunohistochemistry, molecular pathology techniques, and microscopic diagnosis within the histopathology laboratory.
Participate actively in multidisciplinary tumor boards (MDTs) and clinicopathological conferences, offering pathological insights for patient management.
Lead and contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives within the Histopathology section.

Research and Scholarship:

Establish and lead an independent research program in Histopathology or related fields of Pathology.
Secure external research funding through competitive grant applications.
Publish high-impact, peer-reviewed original research articles in national and international journals.
Present scholarly work at major scientific conferences and professional meetings.
Mentor junior faculty, residents, and students in research design, execution, data analysis, and scientific writing.

Service and Administration:

Serve on departmental, institutional, and university-wide committees (e.g., Curriculum, Assessment, Research Ethics, Hospital Quality Committees).
Contribute significantly to the strategic planning, governance, and administrative functions of the Department of Pathology.
Participate in professional organizations and contribute to the advancement of Pathology/Histopathology at national and international levels.
Engage in continuous professional development to maintain expertise and stay abreast of new technologies and diagnostic criteria.
