Site Reliability Engineer (India)

Arango is seeking a skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their remote team in India. The role focuses on building and maintaining a robust, cloud-native infrastructure that supports distributed database systems powering mission-critical applications across various industries. The ideal candidate will ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of these systems, primarily running on Kubernetes within AWS and Google Cloud environments. This position involves designing scalable infrastructure, enhancing observability, automating workflows, and collaborating closely with development teams to write clean, efficient code in Golang. A passion for building resilient cloud-based systems and improving CI/CD pipelines is essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS and Google Cloud platforms.
- Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of Kubernetes-based distributed database systems.
- Collaborate with developers to write production-grade code in Golang for infrastructure automation and operational improvements.
- Optimize and automate CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and monitoring systems to support production environments.
- Develop and execute strategies for disaster recovery, high availability, and fault tolerance.
- Proactively identify system bottlenecks, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues across network, OS, and cloud infrastructure layers.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to maintain visibility into system health and performance.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support critical production systems and respond promptly to incidents.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance overall system reliability and scalability.
- Collaborate with the Customer Success team to address and resolve customer issues effectively.

Required Qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps within cloud-native environments.
- Strong self-organization skills and ability to work autonomously in a remote team setting, with excellent communication abilities.
- Proficiency with AWS and Google Cloud Platform, including advanced Linux internals such as processes and environment variables.
- Expertise in containerization and orchestration technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes at scale.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or CircleCI, and observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.
- Solid understanding of core networking concepts, security best practices, and systematic troubleshooting of complex infrastructure issues.
- Programming skills in Golang or Python, with a willingness to deepen Golang expertise.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
