Cargo Operations Officer

The Cargo Operations Officer plays a critical role in maintaining accurate records, identifying issues such as discrepancies or damages, and preparing detailed cargo operation reports. This individual supports inventory checks and audits while addressing and resolving operational challenges to enhance cargo handling efficiency. Following company standard operating procedures and safety regulations is paramount. The officer contributes to continuous improvement in cargo operations and supports various administrative and coordination tasks as assigned by the Operations or Cargo Manager, ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of the cargo handling process.
Responsibilities

Coordinate daily cargo receiving, handling, loading, unloading, storage, and dispatch activities, ensuring efficient flow of goods and adherence to schedules.
Prepare, verify, and manage cargo documents, manifests, delivery orders, and operational records with accuracy and compliance.
Monitor shipment statuses to guarantee timely processing and movement of cargo within established timelines.
Collaborate effectively with warehouse personnel, transport providers, customers, customs officials, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate smooth cargo handling.
Ensure all cargo is appropriately labeled, packed, stored, and handled following company policies and safety standards.
Identify, document, and report any cargo discrepancies, damages, shortages, delays, or issues related to documentation promptly.
Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all cargo movements and transactions to support operational transparency.
Enforce compliance with company standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and all relevant regulatory requirements.
Prepare daily and periodic reports detailing cargo operations, performance metrics, and incident records for management review.
Support inventory verification through checks, audits, inspections, and reconciliation activities to maintain data integrity.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues to improve cargo handling efficiency and reduce delays or errors.
Perform additional duties assigned by the Operations or Cargo Manager to support overall cargo operations and continuous improvements.
