We are seeking a skilled Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst with a minimum of four years of professional experience, including at least two years in a recent SOC analyst role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing security alerts to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time. This role requires a proactive approach to incident handling, thorough documentation, and collaboration with higher-tier analysts to ensure effective threat mitigation. Candidates must be under the age of 35, with a five-year general age relaxation already applied to the upper limit.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor security alerts and logs using SIEM platforms to identify potential threats as they occur.
- Perform initial triage on alerts to differentiate genuine security incidents from false positives.
- Document all findings meticulously and create incident tickets within the tracking system for audit and compliance purposes.
- Analyze user-reported phishing emails by examining headers, links, and attachments for malicious content.
- Execute basic remediation actions such as resetting compromised user passwords or isolating affected endpoints.
- Collect preliminary evidence and enrich data by researching IP reputation, domain history, and other relevant information for validated alerts.
- Escalate confirmed or complex security incidents to Tier 2 analysts, providing detailed summaries to facilitate further investigation.
- Monitor the health and status of security sensors to ensure proper log ingestion into the SIEM system.
- Run and review scheduled vulnerability scans to identify unpatched systems or misconfigurations.
- Maintain comprehensive shift handover reports to ensure continuity in monitoring and incident management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of four years of relevant experience, including at least two years as a SOC analyst.
- Age must not exceed 35 years (with a five-year general age relaxation already applied).
