We are looking for a talented developer who is passionate about building well-architected, robust, and reliable systems. As part of this team your responsibilities will include working closely with other engineering team members, and interacting with product, design, content, business and many other groups to deliver world-class software solutions.
You’ll work alongside the best and the brightest engineering talent in the industry. As a core participant of the team, you’ll estimate engineering efforts, prioritize projects, plan implementations and triage production issues. You need to be dynamic, collaborative and curious as we build new experiences, improve existing products and develop distributed systems.
Our web stack is based on PHP, Code Ignitor, and MySQL, but you'll also need to consider the nature of REST APIs, database management, and deployment workflows. Knowledge of PHP is not a must, but deep familiarity with web favored languages is.
⦁ Strong ability in Object Oriented Programming and Design
⦁ Solid foundation in Computer Science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms
⦁ Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
⦁ Knowledge and ability to understand enterprise level architecture.
⦁ Understanding of MVC and modern web frameworks.
⦁ Experience in Agile methodologies and SCRUM is a plus.
⦁ Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs
⦁ PHP, Code Ignitor experience
⦁ Understanding of jQuery and JavaScript libraries in general
⦁ Responsive, standards-compliant HTML and CSS3 front-end development
⦁ Knowledge of SQL and common relational database systems such as PostgreSQL and MySQL
⦁ Experience with version control (BitBucket, Git etc.)
⦁ Knowledge of application testing and deployment methodologies
⦁ Ability to develop new and innovative applications as well as maintaining existing code.
⦁ Ability to organize & communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical people across functional teams.
⦁ Excellent debugging and optimization skills
⦁ Unit/integration testing experience
⦁ Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
⦁ Collaborate with teams in different time zones to deliver systems and products that improve the experience of global customer base.
⦁ Passionate about providing the best experience possible to our users – from UI/UX design to speed and performance.
⦁ Technical guidance to junior developers
⦁ Conduct code reviews
⦁ Take ownership of and lead small to mid sized projects
⦁ Technical documentation
⦁ Project effort estimation
⦁ Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately
