Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain software tools and automation for networking infrastructure to manage DigitalOcean’s networks across multiple sites.
- Collaborate closely with network infrastructure engineers to build and sustain network automation and monitoring platforms.
- Ensure high code quality by participating in and guiding code reviews.
- Utilize AI coding tools to quickly prototype and deploy effective solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (B.Tech./B.E./B.Sc. or equivalent).
- Solid understanding of basic networking concepts, with either prior experience or strong enthusiasm for automating data center networks.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Go or Python.
- Comfortable working with Linux environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization or virtualization technologies, web servers, and databases.
- Experience with code versioning tools like Git and accustomed to multi-branch development workflows.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack is advantageous.
- Experience with automation frameworks like Salt (preferred) or Ansible.
- Exposure to network automation tools including NAPALM and NetBox.
- Understanding of network protocols such as BGP, MPLS, IS-IS, and OSPF, along with network hardware like Juniper and Arista devices.
- Technologies and standards familiarity including IPFIX, OpenConfig, and NETCONF.
