Software Engineer II- Python

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join our Finance Technology Delivery team. In this role, you will drive innovation and support future growth by developing critical integrations between source data, financial SaaS platforms, and Nordstrom applications. The position involves working on complex projects that require collaboration across multiple teams and delivering high-quality software solutions in an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead multidimensional projects involving cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Collaborate with other software engineers to establish design best practices and conduct thorough code reviews.
- Resolve complex engineering challenges through teamwork and effective problem-solving.
- Facilitate cross-functional troubleshooting and root cause analysis, engaging relevant stakeholders as needed.
- Create, evaluate, and contribute to detailed feature designs that align with project goals.
- Design, develop, and implement software solutions following agile methodologies.
- Mentor team members to elevate technical expertise and promote knowledge sharing.
- Maintain a strong understanding of IT concepts, trends, and best practices, particularly related to cloud technologies and system integrations.
- Apply and advocate for secure coding practices and secure system fundamentals throughout the development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Python is essential.
- Willingness to learn Go programming language; prior experience is a plus.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes orchestration.
- Knowledge of relational databases and their integration.
- Hands-on experience with RESTful architecture and microservices development.
- Exposure to cloud-based services, particularly AWS.
- Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies and tools.
- Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language, such as Java.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software engineering or a related field.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Experience with near real-time data processing solutions using Kafka is advantageous.
- Familiarity with integrations involving financial planning systems like Anaplan or Oracle is a plus.
- Deep proficiency in Java alongside Python is beneficial.
