Software Engineer (MERN)

FiveRivers Technologies is seeking a motivated Full Stack Developer with 1 to 2 years of professional experience to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and delivering comprehensive features for client products. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, technical ownership, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal developer will be comfortable handling tasks end-to-end, from requirement analysis through deployment, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain full-stack features, including frontend, backend, APIs, and databases.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, managing them from initial requirements to final deployment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code that adheres to best practices.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed to enhance application functionality.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and technical decisions clearly with team members and stakeholders.
- Manage workload independently, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.

Required Qualifications

- 1 to 2 years of professional experience in full-stack development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, with hands-on experience using React or Next.js for frontend development and Node.js for backend services.
- Working knowledge of SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, and/or NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
- Experience working with RESTful and GraphQL APIs, including designing queries, mutations, schemas, and resolvers.
- Familiarity with Git version control and standard software development workflows.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and work independently with minimal guidance.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Vercel, along with basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker.
- Experience integrating AI or large language model (LLM) APIs into applications.
- Competitive programming experience or a GitHub portfolio showcasing personal projects is a plus.
